The Presence of International Media and GDPR Considerations for Email Archiving

The presence of international media, along with the continuous interest in the blog article "The MailStore Server and GDPR", and various questions from our customers have prompted us to reconsider email archiving in the context of GDPR once again. A new law aimed at harmonizing data protection laws within the EU has emerged, bringing new challenges and unanswered questions to the forefront. Specifically, GDPR will address the following data protection areas:

  • Technical and organizational security measures such as data encryption
  • Control requirements when using IT systems to store and process personal data
  • Documentation of consent when processing personal data
  • Strict requirements regarding the design and purpose of consent in the processing of personal data
  • The rights of individuals concerning their personal data (i.e., the right to be forgotten)
  • Data sharing between geographic regions
  • New regulations regarding international data sharing, the scope of GDPR's international applicability, and the establishment of a single supervisory authority and a single point of contact (acting as a one-stop shop)

To meet the compliance requirements, the main prerequisite and how MailStore Server supports businesses in achieving GDPR compliance or activating a relevant data compliance policy is discussed in more detail. We are pleased to offer you "MailStore Advisory: Email Archiving and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)". It is free of charge and without any obligations. Download it here.
