MailStore Version 26.2 New Design, Transition to Graph, and Expanded Archiving Options with MailStore
We would like to offer version 26.2 of our email archiving software, MailStore Server, as well as MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE), MailStore Gateway, MailStore Home, and the currently available MailStore Cloud version.

MailStore in a New Look
MailStore is getting a modern visual refresh, aligning with OpenText's brand identity and creating a more cohesive, contemporary experience. As part of OpenText for several years, MailStore's new design makes this connection instantly recognizable.
What this means for you: Although the view is new, everything else remains the same. Your solution, data, and daily workflow remain exactly as you know them. You'll notice that our logo and corporate colors have changed.
New Features in MailStore Version 26.2
New Conversion Tool for Microsoft Graph and IMAP for EWS
With Version 26.2, MailStore introduces a new conversion tool specifically designed for MailStore Server and Microsoft 365 users, particularly for the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE). This tool provides all the features customers need for a seamless transition from Exchange Web Services (EWS) to the Microsoft Graph API.
The version supports administrators by automatically detecting existing EWS profiles, providing clear guidance for necessary configurations, and supporting guided migration through the new profile conversion tool. This significantly simplifies the transition, reduces sources of error, and minimizes manual effort. For more information about Microsoft's planned changes to EWS, please visit our blog posts (here and here).
Export to Microsoft 365 Now Uses the IMAP Protocol
MailStore customers are familiar with and appreciate this export feature, which allows them to restore archives and folders back into a mailbox on the mail server.
With this update, exports now use the IMAP protocol instead of EWS to maintain compatibility with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) and preserve the folder structure of mailboxes. Existing profiles can be converted using the new conversion tool, while all new profiles default to using IMAP.
Automatic Synchronization of Microsoft 365 Groups
Microsoft 365 groups can now be automatically synchronized in MailStore Server and MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE) versions. For each synchronized Microsoft 365 group, MailStore creates a new MailStore user and an archive where the logged emails will be stored. Note: A user license is required for each synchronized Microsoft 365 group.
This feature significantly simplifies archiving and management, ensuring that all content from Microsoft 365 Groups is fully accessible in the archive.
A Few Small but Useful Improvements
In addition, we have a few small improvements aimed at enhancing the software's security, stability, and reliability. These changes include bug fixes and technical optimizations running in the background. An example of these improvements is targeted enhancements made in the MailStore SPE management console, which contributes to a more stable user experience.
New Features in MailStore Cloud Version 26.2
Support for Outlook.com Free Email Accounts
You can now archive emails and synchronize folders from Outlook.com accounts. In addition to Microsoft 365 business and corporate accounts, free Microsoft email services (e.g., "@outlook.com", "@hotmail.com", "@live.com" domain names) are also supported. Customers can now collect all emails from various services into a single MailStore archive.
Deleting Archive Mailboxes That Still Contain Emails
Archive mailboxes can now be deleted even if they still contain emails. Unified users can choose to either delete or preserve the emails within these archive mailboxes. Previously, deletion was only possible for empty archive mailboxes. This change increases the manageability of your MailStore archive and provides more flexibility for administrators and unified users. The deletion of emails is fully controlled and supports continued compliance with GoBD and GDPR regulations.
More Development and Bug Fixes
In addition, we have made several small improvements and bug fixes to enhance the user experience. Among other things, the process log can now display readable names instead of identifiers, users can now see at a glance whether they have logged into Web Access or Admin Access, and more.
Updated Certification: Meeting Data Privacy Requirements
As usual, all MailStore products in the new version 26.2 have been certified by an independent data privacy expert.
The certification takes into account all relevant aspects of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and confirms that all requirements related to processing personal data as specified in the GDPR are met when the product is used appropriately.
