Is the GoBD regulation in Germany?
Germany's GoBD ("Principles relating to the proper management and storage of books, records, and documents in electronic form as well as principles relating to data access") lays down the requirements for the accounting and storage of financially significant electronic data and paper documents, referring to the country's generally accepted accounting principles (GoB). But what exactly is GoBD? A non-expert person usually gives it a legal status, which is certainly not correct. Although they tend to be read like legal language, the name is a hint - "G" does not stand for "Gesetz" ("law"), but for "Grundsätze" ("principles").
